Retail Case Study - Ponden Mill
Moda in Pelle is a family run business which started with a single shop opening in Leeds in the mid 70s. It has grown steadily and now has 29 stores across the UK.
This was an exciting opportunity for an experienced retailer to work for this successful, privately owned retail business in the capacity of General Manager/Managing Director.
Working with the owner this appointment had full responsibility for the day to day running of the business and would be heavily involved developing the strategy to see the business through the next phase of growth.
Interim Partners were tasked with providing a retail ‘all-rounder’. The business required someone who was experienced in all retail operational functions from trading through to supply chain and Interim Partners quickly identified Tom Clark who had recently become available on the market.
Tom had over 20 years’ operational retail experience working in a range of successful household retail businesses. Of particular interest to the owners of Moda in Pelle was Tom’s most recent experience of working in a footwear retailer where he was directly responsible for over 150 stores. Tom is still with Moda in Pelle and working closely with the owner he continues to increase the store portfolio and to grow the business particularly into the South of England to position it as the leading ladies fashion footwear retailer.
