North Yorkshire Youth
In Harrogate, our partner charity is North Yorkshire Youth - a children and young people’s charity based near Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire Youth (NYY) provides opportunities for children and young people to discover their own potential.
They are the modern face of a youth association dating back to 1941, and today their mission remains that of the founders – to provide learning and personal development opportunities for children and young people.
"We believe that everyone has the power to achieve amazing things, and we’re committed to providing for 8-25 year olds the widest possible range of opportunities to discover this for themselves."
The charity works in three main ways to provide opportunities for our beneficiaries:
- Training for young people and those who work or volunteer to support them
- Capacity-building and development support for community-based youth projects
- Adventurous activities through NYY's residential outdoor centre, Carlton Lodge
"Working in partnership with Interim Partners is an exciting new opportunity for North Yorkshire Youth (NYY) and the young people we work with.
The support young people need is varied and can come from many different places, with just one short conversation, idea or piece of advice having a life changing effect. So working together not only can we provide young people with great opportunities but it also gives both NYY and Interim Partners the chance to make a real difference.
I’m really looking forward to building a strong relationship and, through that, helping young people realise their potential."
David Sharp, Chief Executive of North Yorkshire Youth
