    Our client, an Arm's-Length Management Organisations (ALMO) in London, is looking for an interim Asbestos Programme Manager to act as the \"competent person\" as defined by the Control of Asbestos Regulations and provide competent advice regarding the inspection, management and removal of asbestos containing material (ACM's) to the all areas of the business.

    This is for an initial 6 month assignment and to start immediately.

    Key deliverables:

    • To ensure the organisation complies with its duties under the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR), and other relevant legislation
    • To ensure the strategy and systems effectively coordinate and manage asbestos related activities across all areas of the business
    • To plan, programme and organise asbestos management surveys of all buildings as required, ensuring all ACM's are regularly inspected and controlled across all buildings
    • To hold and manage the Asbestos Register, and produce and review management data to inform proactive inspection and remedial programme
    • Produce and maintain an Asbestos Management Plan in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations
    • Coordinate and manage an asbestos remedial programme
    • Auditing internal processes to ensure compliance with the Asbestos Management Plan
    • Developing and delivering training to employees via the companies e-training system and via face to face safety, first training sessions
    • Reviewing contractor risk assessments and method statements for the encapsulation or removal of ACM's
    • Manage the business' term contracts for consultancy and removal services, chair contract management meetings and liaise with relevant internal managers, regarding contractor performance
    • Liaising with the business's communications team, housing management teams and lessee services teams regarding the distribution of information

    Qualifications and Experience:

    Essential -

    • BOHS P405: Management of Asbestos in Buildings
    • BOHS P407: Managing Asbestos in Premises, the Duty Holder Requirements
    • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar role
    • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to residential buildings and construction activities

    Desirable -

    • BOHS P402: Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings
    • NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate
    • Experience in housing/residential sector would be beneficial
