    Sage Housing, a for-profit registered provider, is looking to appoint a Non- Executive Director focusing on the area of customer experience.

    Sage Housing was founded by Blackstone in December 2017 and is committed to delivering high quality affordable housing across England. Sage's portfolio consists of 100% new build Section 106 units, with over a £1 billion (7,000 units) delivery pipeline and plans to deliver over 20,000 units by 2022. Blackstone is the largest real estate investor in the world with $136 billion of assets under management.

    This is a critical appointment for the organisation where depth of experience in customer experience is essential. Sage Housing requires someone who has previous board level experience, successfully held NED positions and offer a complementary skill set to the current board.

    Sage deliver new, high quality, affordable homes rather than acquiring existing stock. They want to add to the supply of affordable housing because they understand that there is a need for well-built, well-designed and well-managed homes that are truly affordable.

    The successful candidate will be expected to add value to Sage Housing's business by contributing expertise and insight to determine strategy, direction and control in the interests of customers. users. As a Board member, you have ultimate responsibility for the governance of Sage Housing, your central role is to direct and control how Sage Housing operates. This includes; strategic direction and policies, establishing and overseeing control and risk management frameworks and ensuring that Sage Housing achieves its aims and objectives.

    As a Non-Executive Director, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring that the customer experience for Sage is of the highest level. You will be commercial, innovative and have an entrepreneurial approach. In addition, you will be collaborative, an excellent communicator who can provide effective challenge and support.

    As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the principles and practice of good corporate governance and the role of the board. You will be able to think objectively and exercise independent judgement in a variety of situations. You will be required to inspire confidence in others and have a willingness to work within the terms of reference. The ideal candidate will come from a commercial background and previously held board level positions in high profile organisations. If your background is in retail, then this would be of particular interest.

    As a registered provider, Sage is regulated by the Regulator for Social Housing. They are committed to the highest standards for their customers and local authority partners and work with some of the most experienced Registered Providers in England to manage their homes.

    The term of office for this appointment is 3 years.
