    Our client, a large Acute Trust, is currently looking to identify an experienced interim Head of Service for Oncology and Haematology.

    Reporting to the Head of Cancer, the successful candidate will have ultimate responsibility for leading Oncology and Haematology.

    As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the overall operational effectiveness and leadership of the division including the delivery of all performance standards including national cancer waiting times and referral to treatment indicators for the specialties. You will be required to provide the day to day leadership within the business unit to ensure all functions executed comply with established governance arrangements.

    We are looking for an inspirational leader who fosters a learning culture where all employees can thrive. You will have a hands-on approach and an 'open door' policy to all staff. You will have previously managed large-scale change and be able to demonstrate a track record of innovation and improvement.

    In addition, you will have responsibility for:

    • Key quality and service improvement initiatives
    • Effective workforce planning, performance of teams
    • Business development

    The successful candidate will have a proven track record in:

    • Utilising service improvement tools and techniques
    • Strategic planning, working towards clear vision of future while ensuring shorter-term goals are met
    • Leadership of service development & improvement
    • A comprehensive understanding of medical terminology relevant to the specialities
    • A comprehensive understanding of cancer related nomenclature

    As the successful candidate you will be expected to deputise for the Head of Cancer Services and will represent the Trust at relevant Strategic Clinical Network and Cancer Alliance.
