The client

GlaxoSmithKline PLC (GSK) is a science-led global healthcare company. They research and develop a broad range of innovative products in three primary areas of Pharmaceuticals, Vaccines and Consumer Healthcare. GSK have a significant global presence with commercial operations in more than 150 countries, a network of 86 manufacturing sites in 36 countries and large R&D centres in the UK, USA, Spain, Belgium and China.

 

The Challenge

With such a diverse and dispersed global footprint, GSK were transforming their global supply chain. 

A critical part of the transformation is to implement and embed world class S&OP/IBM processes and procedures internationally. 

Interim partners were asked to assist with the hiring of experienced interim executives to be based in region – LATAM (Brazil), APAC (Singapore), Middle East (Dubai) and Europe (UK) – with all incumbents required to be onboard within 60 days.

 

The Solution

With a track record of appointing international supply chain executives over 12 years, Interim Partners began networking in region to identify and qualify suitable individuals. Our in-depth knowledge of end-to-end supply chain management, together with our broad client base enabled us to identify and attract a high number of potential candidates. 

 

Results

The successful Interim Manager for the APAC role was based in Singapore and immediately available. His career history included global FMCG and Food Manufacturing businesses, as well as a “big 4” consultancy.

With a defined project timeline and time sensitive deadlines the Interim Manager has on-boarded within the desired timeframes to drive momentum in alignment with the Global Team and other regional deployment leads.
