Client FAQs

What is IR35?

IR35 refers to the United Kingdom's anti-avoidance tax legislation designed to tax "disguised employment" at a rate similar to employment.

Do I need an interim manager?

Interim executives are the best solution in some, but not all, circumstances. Typically they are employed to solve the following challenges:

  • To plan and manage a programme of change or transformation
  • To help create and implement a business turnaround strategy
  • To fill a critical gap rapidly

The interim professionals we work with offer some unique benefits:

  • Shorter time-to-hire
  • In-depth, relevant experience, meaning they hit the ground running
  • Proven track record, making them credible candidates
  • Typically over-qualified for the role
  • Quicker results, as they are unencumbered by company politics

Can I use ROI for interims that haven’t been placed by Interim Partners?

We are glad you like our management system.

The short answer is ‘yes’. We have, for the first time, opened up the platform to other organisations for all their interims and relevant contractors.

Call us on 020 7936 2865 or email ROI@interimpartners.com. Alternatively, you can request a callback.

Can you provide any help during the interview process?

As an added value to our service, we can help structure the interview process from providing suggestions for questioning to forming part of the interview panel. Each assignment is different and requires various level of engagement.

To discuss your particular requirements, please get in touch with one of our consultants.

Do Interim Partners provide permanent solutions?

Often our interims are asked to stay on longer as per the placement’s requirements. The details will be discussed in each particular case with both sides. Our sister companies – New Street and Brightpool - specialise on permanent senior placements, executive search and talent pooling. For more information please follow the links to their respective websites:

Do you operate internationally?

Interim Partners already generates significant revenues from overseas placements, with 15% of roles currently based overseas, with particularly active presence in North America and Middle East.

Many of the interims we work with have very strong language skills and cultural expertise acquired during international assignments.

Recently, we have broadened our European network by joining forces with leading French interim management firm Valtus and their German counterparts Atreus. The alliance will give Interim Partners’ clients access to the very best interim talent in France and Germany.

When it comes to international assignments, we are happy to operate in foreign currency, as long as it is upheld both at the billing and payment stages.

At Interim Partners we value relationships. To keep in touch with our ever-growing interim community we host an extensive programme of events, ranging from breakfast seminars, to evening drinks and canapés, to webinars. They are great opportunities to connect with top industry professionals, as well as be at the forefront of the leading research and insight in the industry. How do I choose an interim manager?

Finding the right interim manager to solve your particular challenge is both an art and a science.

Having a ‘little black book’ of over 100,000 contacts helps, but the real value of Interim Partners lies in understanding your needs and finding the best available talent to meet those needs.

We do not place candidates we have not met. All chosen applicants go through a vigorous and thorough multi-step process with our consultants prior to meeting a client. Most of them have successfully carried out similar assignments before.

Our consultants are constantly sourcing talent and growing our network of the best interim managers. We know the difference between good and great, which is why we are able to provide the most suitable interim solution for your business. The precision and attention to detail are consistently adhered to at every stage of the process, from thorough referencing and quality of interviewing, to the monitoring throughout the placement.

How do your contracts work?

We understand that working in the sphere of interim management can cause uncertainty and confusion, especially if you are new to it. Fortunately, we have been in the business for over a decade and are aware of the rules; whether it is the HMRC or IR35 you are concerned about, we have it under control.

At Interim Partners all the contracts are regularly checked, and our compliance team ensures the team stay at the top of any changes to the regulations. We are happy to discuss any concerns you may have, just give us a call on 0207 936 2865.

How much does it cost to hire an interim manager?

Each case that we take on is unique. All our candidates operate on day rates, which is part of what makes them more efficient and cost-effective.

To arrange a no obligation discussion to see if hiring an interim manager is appropriate for your business please call 020 7936 2865, and one of our consultants will be able to help you.

Can I offer a permanent position to my interim?

It is often the case that following a successful interim assignment, clients would like to offer a permanent positon to the employee. We are happy to assist with the transition. Ultimately, it is the interim’s decision.

To discuss this further, please get in touch with the consultant working on your assignment.

Why don’t interim managers have a permanent job?

Being an interim is a conscious choice that requires passion, experience and takes a certain person to be able to do it. The interim lifestyle does not suit all. At Interim Partners we make sure that all our candidates have what it takes to ‘do the job’ and do it well.

Indeed, interim managers are often offered permanent positions on successful completion of their assignment and we are more than happy to facilitate this transition should it suit all parties.
