Clients are often forced to pay a premium to use consultants when they don’t have time to recruit and manage contractors. Yet the proactive use of interims can materially reduce the requirement for consultants, whilst driving delivery standards and substantial savings.
In this breakfast we’ll hear from Andrew McIntee, (Partner, Interim Partners) and Alan Gotto (Managing Director, Constellia) about how this can be achieved, considering when it’s appropriate to use interims (and when it is not) and specific procurement plays you might consider, including:
- Tracking “Return on Interim” - demonstrating the value delivered by interims and increasing clients' confidence to use them instead of branded consultants
- Engaging Programme Supplier Managers - whether on change or M&A/IPO programmes to ensure external advisors are rigorously managed
- Developing a Consultant Substitution Solution - to proactively identify and replace consultants with interims
About the speakers:
Alan originally trained as a solicitor at Trowers & Hamlins, before becoming a strategy consultant with Adventis and then applying his supply market experience by becoming a leading expert consultancy and accountancy services procurement.
During his 15 years in Procurement he has been responsible for global professional services at multiple blue chips, including Deutsche Bank, Aviva, Worldpay and Hastings Direct.
He founded Constellia to provide major clients with the resource they require to manage their consultancy spend effectively, including buying toolkits, benchmark rate data and a procurement peer group, the Consultancy Procurement Council, for sharing best practices.
He speaks regularly on the subject of the strategic sourcing of consultancy for organisations including CIPS and the Managing Partners Forum, and trains professional service firms on how to engage effectively with Procurement.
Having joined Interim Partners in 2005, Andrew is responsible for driving the growth strategy of the company in addition to working with our client partners to ensure the highest levels of quality and customer service.
Andrew started his career in the recruitment sector in 1998 and has a substantial track record within the recruitment marketplace, having worked for two years in a regional multi-disciplined recruitment business focusing on placing finance professionals and then a further four years in a national recruitment consultancy specialising in placing Finance Directors and Chief Financial Officers, where he became Manager of their operations and led a team of experienced consultants.
