Interim Partners' Aerospace & Defence practice is hosting a breakfast seminar on Wednesday 26th September 2018. If you're a leader within the Aerospace & Defence sector, this session will undoubtedly be valuable to you and we hope that you can join us.
Date: 26th September 2018
Location: Interim Partners London office
Alex Kyriakou will discuss how he has successfully led supply chain transformation projects within the Space industry, whilst fully owning the operational excellence and business delivery.
His talk will center around how sustainable business value can be extracted from such often costly business initiatives. He will give examples of lessons he has learnt and the robust framework that he has found useful. He will also share his views on the future of Procurement as a key function around the Board table and benefits from synergies from delivering projects across adjacent industries to Aerospace & Defence such as the Automotive and Shipping sectors.
About the speaker
Alex is an established international senior procurement executive with extensive knowledge and expertise in managing international Aerospace and Defense supply chains. From an Aeronautics background he has developed two decades of hands on experience across a number of the industry’s verticals and offered targeted advice and steering on sensitive commercial and supply chain decisions at senior management level to the organisations he has worked with.
Very early in his career Alex worked directly under the watchful eye of CPO of Airbus Defence & Space (a.k.a. EADS Astrium or Matra Marconi Space) and throughout his career to date has actively played an integral part in the compilation, integration and consolidation of supply chain organisations, delivering sales order books and attaining long-term growth plans through implementation of high value sourcing strategies anchored around the building of sustainable and reliable supply chains from Tier 1s to smaller SMEs.
McKinsey trained Alex has first-hand working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain programme management and cost transformation programmes. Strategic sourcing, organisational design, commodity management, SRM, FM, e-Business and high value contract negotiations have slashed procurement costs by millions. However, Alex admits that probably the most important career-fulfilling achievement to date is his ability to work with people at all levels including prime account holders, key decision makers and blue collar workers motivating and encouraging teams of people during periods of hard-core change.
Alex has been operating as MD of AGK Sourcing Consultancy Ltd, a privately owned procurement services company based in the UK with Private and Public sector presence and expertise in cost transformation, supply chain organisational design and strategy development, procurement outsourcing and procurement project management. Recent assignments include priming the international supply chain for a flagship UK Aviation tender for SERCO Group Plc, negotiating a diverse portfolio of aircraft configuration contracts for a large fleet of Boeing 737 Max aircraft including in-service support for Monarch Airlines, leading the outsourcing of aircraft line and base maintenance services to reputable 3rd party MROs on behalf of British Airways, outsourcing of all aircraft paint activities for a wide range of narrow and wide body aircraft on behalf of a international airlines group and outsourcing of IUCR and AAS type contracts to industry primes on behalf of the UK MoD and several others. Alex is currently exploring synergies and contract opportunities in the US and the UAE region in the Aviation, Energy and Shipping sectors.
