16 May 2019 - The Construction Industry’s Silent Killer – Can We Afford Not to Talk Seriously About Mental Health?
Following on from our popular breakfast round tables in 2018, we would like to invite you to our next event, focusing on mental health and well-being in the construction and support services sector.
Date: Wednesday 16th May 2019
Time: 8:00am to 10:00am
Location: Interim Partners - London
Did you know, 38 construction workers were killed in fatal accidents during 2017/18 in the UK? A tragic and shocking statistic!
But did you know that on average 284 construction workers take their own lives every year in the UK? That is 7.5 times more than those killed in fatal accidents!
Are we doing enough to tackle this problem?
Join us on the morning of the 16th May as David Sershall shares his insight and experience.
8.15: Coffee and pastries
9.45: Wrap up
About the speaker
David Sershall - Director, REconstructing Ltd
David has been a construction professional for over 30 years, working his way up from trainee with Wimpey Construction to managing director with VolkerFitzpatrick and E W Beard.
He established REconstructing Ltd in 2018 to provide collaborative support to the built environment and beyond to ensure the health and well-being of businesses, their culture and their people through business transformation, growth and innovation so that businesses remain operational in this volatile and uncertain world.
His belief is the health and well-being of a business, it's culture and its people are all inter-dependent.
Drawing from his own personal experiences of dealing with significant stress and strain while working on high profile London projects during the recession, he believes the construction industry needs to change if it is going to attract new people into the industry and keep those that are already in it happy, healthy and motivated in a post-Brexit world.
