What would your advice be to the Prime Minister?
If Roy Lilley was the new Prime Minister and you were a member of the Cabinet, what would you advise him to say at the dispatch box about the NHS? That was the question Roy Lilley posed last week at the Interim Partners NHS Directors Dinner.
One by one we gave our opinion, enjoying our imaginary role as a Secretary of State. Some of the more radical suggestions included:
- introducing performance-related pay
- hiring more interims
- scrap the international aid development budget and transfer it to the NHS
- abolish the CQC
- increase NHS funding well in excess of the funding ambitions outlined in the NHS Five Year Forward View
What would your advice be? #NHSdebate
It was a fantastic evening. Alongside discussion of the immanent General Election, it was an opportunity to meet old friends, make new contacts and enjoy the fabulous views from our private dining room at the top of the Walkie Talkie tower. I can certainly recommend the Fenchurch Bar & Grill. Photos of the evening can be found here.
