Our 2016 CSR Round-up
2016 has been another busy year for our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
Over the year we gave a combined total of over 600 hours to help our charity partners. Our annual CSR event saw us rise to the challenge of the Yorkshire Three Peaks – a 25-mile hike in sub 9 hours. A team of 25 staff trekked across the Pennines to raise over £7,200 for our charity partners, a tough day but all for a great cause.
Our Harrogate office teamed up with a new charity partner – North Yorkshire Youth (NYY). They support youth work in many of North Yorkshire’s communities and organise adventurous activities from their Carlton Lodge outdoor Centre. Our team visited the lodge to support the charity with onsite maintenance; building a path around the lake and an axe wall, making archery targets safe and decorating dormitories.
In London, we had another rewarding year working with our Spear students, hosting four company visits for those on the programme.
One of our Directors, Claire Lauder, visited the Bethnal Green Centre to carry out mock discussions and panel interviews, preparing students for the job search process, and attended various graduation ceremonies:
"I have been to a few of the Spear graduations since we first partnered with them but what was brilliant about the last one was how many old students from previous courses were there. It became really apparent that it’s not just the 6-week course that is valuable to these students, but also the on-going career support that Spear provides in the following 12 months. The coaches and students at Spear are always a pleasure to work with!"
We look forward to continuing our partnerships with Spear and NYY in the new year. If you’re interested in taking part, please get in touch with Debbie Norman on firstname.lastname@example.org
