Predictions Report from Deloitte

Predictions Report

Predictions Report Overview

Here we get comments from Peter O' Donoghue following on from his talk at the recent Interim Partners Breakfast seminar.

"The Deloitte Technology, Media & Telecommunications Predictions are now into their seventh year" writes Peter O'Donoghue, the London-based sponsoring Partner of the 2008 Deloitte Predictions and the partner who heads up the Technology Audit Group in London. "Typically there is a launch event in January of each year whereby each of the 30 Predictions are headlined, but the main aim of Predictions is to prompt and inform discussion amongst industry practitioners so, after the launch event, we run smaller, more personalised sessions presenting to Boards or to company discussion groups or at industry events such as that organised by Interim Partners in April. At their heart the Predictions are opinions - we set them out not with the aim to have the reader agree with us but more to have the reader bring their perspective on the subject matter and share that perspective.

Peter comments, "The Institute of Directors event organised by Interim Partners was, I thought, well-timed as it enabled me to do a Q1 review on how some of our Predictions were faring and I was pleased that the discussion that followed took on a life of its own as the audience comments prompted further opinion and debate - precisely how Predictions is supposed to work. My observations on the session is that we have introduced more people to Predictions and, as a result, tapped into a useful new source of contacts, invitees and contributors for when we start to work on Predictions 2009 this autumn. It was a great quality audience and an enjoyable morning, well spent."
